Welcome to my creative journey
I'm Daeyoung, an EECS undergraduate at UC Berkeley with a background as a professional analog artist (watercolor, oil, acrylic, graphite). My interests lie at the intersection of computer graphics and human–computer interaction, where I explore systems that make visual creation more expressive, accessible, and efficient.
I pivoted from studio art after hands-on experience in a semiconductor fabrication plant, where I became fascinated by the elegance of engineered systems. That perspective, seeing aesthetic and algorithmic beauty as complementary, guides my work.
At Berkeley I've built a foundation in algorithms, computer systems, and interactive software. I develop tools and experiences across creative and technical domains:
I aim to design and build tools, interfaces, and rendering techniques that help people create and communicate visually. I bring the rigor of engineering and the sensibility of a practicing artist. I care about both latency and line quality, both algorithmic efficiency and aesthetic impact.

A health-themed arcade game where you dodge junk food and catch healthy meals to survive 60 seconds.
I'm always interested in discussing new projects, creative ideas, or opportunities to be part of your vision. Feel free to reach out!
